Job Description:
Operations Director responsibilities at Fireside include the
financial and operational leadership of 2-11 sites and 50-500
employees. Additional key responsibilities include assisting in
establishing revenue, sales, and expense objectives, directing
in-store merchandising, evaluation and growth of direct reports,
and ultimate profit and loss responsibility.Primary
Responsibilities:
- Ensures market competitiveness by monitoring and evaluating
competitor pricing activities; analyzing market surveys, preparing
forecasts; initiating strategic adjustments to improve market
position.
- Evaluates financial trend reports by reviewing merchandise
sales, gasoline gallon volume, profit margins in all key
categories, merchandise shortages, cash over/short reports, repair
and maintenance expenses, supply expenses, etc.
- Determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and
financial statements and sales activity.
- Improves sales and profits by consulting with gasoline and
marketing departments to develop strategies to optimize
implementation of promotional programs.
- Maintains stores by conducting inspections to ensure the
facility is clean and in good repair; evaluate inventory levels,
merchandising; audits paperwork and reports.
- Partners with Real Estate Department to determine new sites,
the renewal of site leases, and the purchase of existing sites or
land banks. Increased contractual responsibilities for new
construction and remodels; responsible for site and plot planning
of new builds and working with all parties to reach
completion.
- Develops and fosters positive business relationships within the
community.
- Adheres to the Company standard of operating in a legal,
ethical, and moral fashion.
- Protects employees, customers, and company assets by
maintaining a safe and secure work environment; enforcing safety
practices; providing safety communications and training.
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget;
scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective
actions. Allocates program costs by preparing operational and risk
reports for analyses.
- Increases professional and technical knowledge by attending
educational workshops; reading professional publications;
establishing personal networks; or participating in professional
societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing determined
Financial and Key Result Area targets pursuant to Company Plan
guidelines.Additional Duties or Tasks as Assigned:
- Secure and maintain custody of company equipment and property
to protect and preserve company data and property.
- Full compliance of company IT policies as they relate to use of
company computers and personal devices.
- Follow and maintain proper office etiquette and professional
dress code.
- Support and follow all company procedures and policies.
- Promote a positive and supportive work environment.
- Use proper business principles by not discussing company
business in public areas or with customers.
- Perform all other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed
necessary by direct supervisor.Requirements for The Job:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred. Other
combinations of job-related experience and education that meet the
minimum requirements may be substituted.
- Five years of experience working in the convenience
store/gasoline industry or more preferred; including minimum of 5
years of departmental/ area management responsibility.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong background in retail marketing.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, and
Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Self-motivated and focused, able to work with little
supervision.
- Positive and professional attitude with a strong work
ethic.
- Strong leadership qualities to promote teamwork attitudes
within our organization.
- Available to work any day/shift, work can include variable
hours, weekends, and holidays.
