family!The Technical Sales Manager - Siphonic leads sales
initiatives for Zurn Elkay's Siphonic drainage solutions, an
advanced plumbing system designed to efficiently remove rainwater
from large, flat-roofed buildings using the principle of siphonic
action. The Technical Sales Manager - Siphonic is responsible for
driving new business development, supporting manufacturer sales
representatives, and leading technical education initiatives for
plumbing engineers, contractors, and other industry professionals.
This role serves as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and
external customers to ensure successful market penetration and
sales execution of Zurn Elkay's siphonic drainage solutions.New
Business Development:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for siphonic
drainage systems
- Drive sales growth by developing relationships with key
decision-makers, including plumbing engineers, contractors,
architects, and facility owners
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and
competitive positioningSales Support & Manufacturer Rep Engagement:
- Partner with manufacturer sales representatives to provide
technical expertise and support for siphonic drainage products
- Assist in developing and executing strategic sales initiatives
in coordination with rep agencies
- Support reps in customer meetings, project specifications, and
solution developmentEducation & Training:
- Lead training sessions, webinars, and on-site demonstrations
for plumbing engineers, contractors, and other industry
professionals
- Develop educational materials and technical resources to
enhance customer understanding of siphonic drainage systemsInternal
Collaboration & Execution:
- Work closely with internal teams, including engineering,
product management, and marketing, to ensure alignment of product
positioning and sales strategies
- Provide feedback to product development teams regarding market
needs and customer pain points
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to
ensure seamless sales execution and project fulfillment
- Represent Zurn Elkay at trade shows, industry events, and
professional association meetings to promote siphonic drainage
solutionsQualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or a related field
(or equivalent experience in lieu of degree)
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales, business
development, or product management within the plumbing or drainage
industry
- Experience working with plumbing engineers, contractors, and
manufacturer sales representatives
- Experience with direct sales, rep networks, and distributor
relationships
- Experience managing long sales cycles for commercial and
industrial projects
- Experience using CRM tools and data analytics to drive sales
strategy
- Strong knowledge of siphonic drainage systems and their
applications
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the
ability to educate and influence stakeholders
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of managing
multiple projects simultaneously
- Deep understanding of siphonic drainage systems, including
design, installation, and performance benefits
- Ability to translate complex engineering concepts into
customer-friendly solutions
- Knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and standards (e.g.,
ASPE, ANSI, EN 1253)
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with
engineers, architects, contractors, and facility owners
- Ability to track and manage multiple projects
simultaneously
- Ability to troubleshoot system design challenges and provide
effective solutions
- Ability to travel up to 75% throughout North America to engage
