RN - NICU at Ascension summary: As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), I provide direct nursing care to critically ill newborns, implementing and monitoring their care plans. I coordinate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure well-coordinated patient care, and communicate patient conditions while adhering to established healthcare protocols. This role requires specialized licensure and training in neonatal care to effectively support vulnerable patients and their families. Details

Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration:
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State.
    • Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program preferred.
    • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of
      Pediatrics (AAP) preferred. Education:
      • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of
