This is a hybrid position at either our Milwaukee office or our New
York City office. ( The Milwaukee office requires onsite M, T, and
W or in our NYC office on Thursday plus 1 other day.) We are
seeking a highly motivated Mid-level ServiceNow Engineer with P
ython experience to join NM's Security Automation team. In this
pivotal role, you will help build and maintain a sustainable
security automation pipeline to enhance the efficiency,
effectiveness, and accuracy of our detection and response
capabilities while minimizing manual tasks for our Cybersecurity
teams. This role blends coding skills, ServiceNow platform
expertise, web application development, and security domain
knowledge. Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze technical development requirements and integrate
ServiceNow security modules with third-party tools and APIs used by
Cybersecurity teams.
- Configure ServiceNow and implement best practices in coding and
design as per ServiceNow standards.
- Collaborate with NM's ServiceNow Platform SRE team to ensure
quality and stability of integrations.
- Perform checkouts during ServiceNow module and platform
upgrades.
- Identify and automate workflows/processes related to security
events through ServiceNow or SOAR playbooks.
- Enhance the organization's case management system to decrease
response times, increase effectiveness, and streamline security
operations.
- Design, engineer, deploy, and maintain custom automation tools
(primarily in Python and PowerShell).
- Develop dashboards and metrics within the organization's case
management system.
- Maintain and improve the team's products, infrastructure, and
technology stack.
- Develop and maintain documentation for automating workflows
related to detection/response procedures for security events. Bring

- 2-4 years of professional experience developing on the
ServiceNow platform, including the creation, configuration, and
customization of ServiceNow products such as ITSM, ITOM,
SecOps.
- Strong knowledge of the ServiceNow Platform, modules, data
model, tables, and capabilities.
- Experience developing/administering on a ServiceNow Platform,
including Workflows, Flows, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI
Policies, Client Scripts, Catalog Items & Record Producers, Groups,
Roles, Tables.
- 2-4 years of professional experience with JavaScript, HTML/CSS,
AJAX, and Python.
- Relational database expertise with enterprise software systems
(e.g., Postgres, MS SQL).
- Proficient in REST API best practices and usage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and
non-technical audiences. Preferred Skills/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science,
Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a
related field.
- Experience with the ServiceNow Security Incident Response (SIR)
module.
- Experience with security automation and orchestration tools
and/or software development technologies.
- Practical experience with automation techniques using
PowerShell, Bash, API calls, and regular expressions.
- Additional coding experience in languages such as Java, C++,
Go.
- Experience with cloud services and CI/CD environments.
- Experience in Security Operations, Incident Response, or
Penetration Testing.
- Active ServiceNow - Certified Application Developer
certification.
- Active ServiceNow - Certified System Administrator
certification.
- Active ServiceNow - Certified Implementation Specialist -

- Start: $90,930.00 Pay Range - End: $168,870.00 Northwestern

as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of
