BI Developer Job in Chicago, IL
 
Our leading technology client located in downtown Chicago is currently seeking a BI Developer for an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity.  This person will play an active role in growing the BI capability of a start-up organization in the healthcare sector.  The position is expected to take an ownership role in this initiative and will operate with considerable latitude including an opportunity to frame future technology selection and product strategy.
 
Specific duties and responsibilities of the BI Developer job include:
•Independently establish units of work from requirements and provide accurate estimates based thereon
•Work with raw data, inspecting, cleaning and transforming it for use in analysis
•Design ETL transformation processes
•Participate in requirements sessions and brainstorms to understand client needs
•Translate requirements into metrics and design reports to visually communicate key information
•Maintain data integrity and continuity through disciplined work processes and DRP
•Translate business requirements into technical specifications
 
 
Minimum requirements and experience for this job are:
•Minimum of three (3) years developing data warehouses in a commercial setting
•Experience with the Microsoft SQL Server stack, in particular the BI toolset is a requirement
•Ability to use, configure and administer Microsoft SQL Server, Analysis Services (SSAS), Integration Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS)
•Proven fluency with T-SQL, MDX and/or DAX
•Design, interpretation and implementation of Data Warehouse schema and processes
•Ability to work with XML documents
